Lockerbie and Langholm are just thirty minutes away and the pretty market town of Moffat (about 35 minutes) is lovely for a wander around its independent shops and has excellent pubs and places to eat, a Farmer’s Market is there every 2nd Sunday of the month that is well worth a visit. The Cottage is in a Dark Sky Area so on a clear night the stars are quite incredible and there is a huge range of wildlife with some of the most iconic and endangered species in Scotland in the area.
