Wild swimming, breathtaking treks, timber trails through forests for miles and abundance of archaeological finds. This completely self-contained charming Shepherd's hut offers a peaceful haven away from the bustle of daily life - a real rural retreatin a 'Dark Sky' location with amazing walks from the doorstep. There is a huge range of wildlife and birdwatchers won't be dissapointed! Lockerbie and Langholm and the pretty market town of Moffat are about half an hour away. Moffatt has independent shops, pubs and places to eat, a Farmer’s Market every 2nd Sunday of the month full of local produce.

Stables Cottage nestles in the hills of the picturesque Southern Uplands, overlooking the peaceful Eskdalemuir valley. There are mountain bike routes, local and long-distance cycling routes, forest trails, riverbank walks, and hiking trails in secluded areas. The cottage is situated approximately 2 miles from the Samye Ling Tibetan Centre - the first Buddhist monastery in Europe (1968) which is open to day visitors and offers a wide selection of courses, a shop, a monastery, a cafe, and a temple. A mile away from the settlement is Eskdalemuir village with a Café Bistro that has great lunches and home-baked cakes, a tiny store offering handcrafted goods and there are frequent exhibitions of the artwork of local artists. Lockerbie and Langholm are just thirty minutes away and the pretty market town of Moffat (about 35 minutes) is lovely for a wander around its independent shops and has excellent pubs and places to eat, a Farmer’s Market is there every 2nd Sunday of the month that is well worth a visit. The Cottage is in a Dark Sky Area so on a clear night the stars are quite incredible and there is a huge range of wildlife with some of the most iconic and endangered species in Scotland in the area.

This pet friendly cottage has a riverside location (perfect if you come to fish!) and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is however still within striking distance of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Nearby is amazing walking (it's on the Southern Upland Way), cycling, golf, castles, local Gin and Whisky Distilleries and with an award-winning restaurant next door it's a great place for a self-catering holiday! Sanquhar is on the South West Coastal 300 touring route with spectacular drives along the coast.

Situated just a mile from Kirkcudbright in the quiet and beautiful countryside of south west Scotland, The Rookery is a self-contained, two-bedroom holiday cottage. If you like walking, cycling and bird-watching then a visit to Galloway Forest Park is a must and Culzean Castle and Country Park is easily accessible for a day out.

Fishing Cottage is one of three cottages. Like the others, it enjoys beautiful views of the river and the surround countryside. It is situated only 100 meters from John Kerr Pool, a salmon pool just up river on the river Nith in Dumfries and Galloway. Close to Drumlanrig Castle Dumfries House and Crawick Multiverse. Lots of amazing walks on the Southern Upland Way. Friendly town with artisan shops, fabulous fishing walking, golf and bird life too. The cottage is adjacent boutique country house hotel, Blackaddie House Hotel with award winning restaurant - what a great treat - you can walk back to the cottage after eating superb local Scottish fair. Whether its a short break or a weeks fishing holiday, this cottage is very comfy and right on the river! Golfers have plenty of choice - the local course is 500 yards away or drive to the world famous Troon or Turnberry.

The cottage is on a working sheep farm - amongst breathtaking countryside in the North Lowther Special Protection Area. This is the ideal base walking and bird watching, golfing, cycling, salmon and trout fishing, and canoeing on the River Nith which has some of the best white-water in Scotland.
