The cottages are set in the centre of a beautiful estate which farms sheep, cattle and forestry. There is also a commercial pheasant shoot on the estate. The views from the cottage are spectacular and you can see 50 miles on a good day.
The cottage is near Dollar in the Ochil Valley and is in the centre of Scotland with Edinburgh and Glasgow only 50 minutes drive. Both Stirling and Perth are easily accessible being less than 30 minutes away. The Highlands, with all the spectacular scenery that Scotland has to offer, are within easy reach for day trips. There are 50 golf courses within an hour's drive and all the main Links courses of Fife and East Lothian are easily visited - the owner of the cottage runs a golf holiday business so any golf queries can be readily answered.
The surrounding area is perfect for those who enjoy the great outdoors with many places to walk and explore. There are wonderful walks on the Ochil Hills which are just 2 miles from the cottage. Nearby Dollar has shops and pubs and is a great place to visit. Castle Campbell, just north of the town, is well worth a visit. There is something for everyone and the owner can advise on all activities and areas.

Accommodation:
The cottage is a two storey stone building with the bedrooms and bathrooms on the top floor. The accommodation are designed to easily accommodate two families with a double bedroom and twin next door plus a bathroom and then at the other end a duplicate set up. One of the bathrooms has a bath with an inbuilt shower; the other has a bath with a hand shower.
Downstairs is the hall with a cupboard to store cases/boots and coats. To the left is the spacious, modern kitchen/dining area. From this room there is a French door which leads out into the garden, to a terrace where there is a table and chairs - ideal for eating outside when the weather is good. The garden faces the south and west and is always in the sun (if it is shining!) and is enclosed, perfect if you are bringing dogs. The other room downstairs is a large living room with an open fire and comfortable seating for 8. There is also a utility room and WC too.
Directions:
Ochil Cottage is located at the Mains of Blairingone. The easiest route to the cottage is from the A977 which links the Kincardine Bridge with Kinross.
From the Kincardine Bridge you stay on the A977 until you enter the village of Blairingone (approx 6 miles). You take the road to the left signposted 'Vicar's Bridge' and go down the road for about 500 metres, round a sharp corner to the left and the Mains is the steading conversion on the left hand side of the road. You take the first turning, before the buildings, signposted Arndean Holiday Cottages, into a car park. Ochil Cottage is the double storey cottage on the left.

Cost and availability:
Ochil Cottage is rented out throughout the year. Change over day is Friday with check out at 10am and check in from 3pm.
