Allen Cottage is a treasure waiting to be discovered! Peacefully situated in an idyllic rural setting surrounded by wonderful Trossachs scenery, it has recently been converted from an old barn and provides tasteful, comfortable and quiet accommodation. Sitting on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, it offers the perfect base for visiting the wonderful lochs and mountains in the area but is also less than an hour from the cities of Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth.

The cottage sits 1/4 mile from the road and 1.2 miles from the village of Buchlyvie in an area of outstanding beauty offering visitors a variety of wonderful things to do and see.

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the beautiful walks in the Queen Elizabeth Forest area and around Loch Lomond, or for more challenging pursuits, take a hike up Ben Lomond, Ben Ledi or Ben Venue - all a short drive away. If cycling is your thing, either bring your own cycle or hire one locally and explore some of the many cycle paths in the area. We have a lockable cycle store for your convenience. If you are a golfer you have many choices of golf course - there is a golf course in Balfron, Drymen, Aberfoyle, Callendar, at Loch Lomond (The Carrick) and of course Gleneagles which is just 45 minutes drive.

Pony trekking can be arranged locally, and fishing can be arranged at the Lake of Menteith - just a 15 minute drive away. For the very adventurous, why not 'Go Ape' for a day in the forest admiring the views from a high wire or 'Go Country' at Kinlochard - a fabulous day out but probably best for the young and fit! If you are interested in special birds there is a Red Kite Centre at Ardgaty outside the village of Doune, or, if you would prefer a lovely sail on a paddle steamer you have the choice of Loch Katrine or Loch Lomond. For families with children, a day at the Drummond Safari Park is a must!

There are plenty of good pubs and eating places in the area and many superb coffee shops with delicious home baking. If this all sounds too hectic there is always the alternative of relaxing at home or in the beautiful garden with a book and a coffee or a glass of wine.
