The Sailors Store Cottage
Cullen, Buckie
Moray
The cottage is situated a few metres from the sandy beach at Cullen harbour and has the most wonderful sea views. The Moray Firth which laps the northern border of the property is home to many seabirds, seals and the Moray Firth dolphins which are regularly seen. Coastal walks and cycling routes can be enjoyed straight from the property. The sandy beach which adjoins the site is enclosed on either side by stone piers making it sheltered and ideal for children. Fishing from the pier and boat trips either for fishing or wildlife watching are both available.
Cullen village is a small but thriving community and shops, including a butcher and Co-op, are all within easy walking distance of the cottage. There are also several tea shops and an ice cream shop making home made ice cream. The area is a superb choice for a family holiday in Scotland and this harbour-side cottage is a real gem.

Accommodation:
The property is a traditionally built stone cottage. On the ground floor there is a large open plan living kitchen, a single bedroom and a bathroom featuring Bette mini bath with thermostatically controllable bath filler spout. There is Caithness flagstone throughout the ground floor with underfloor heating.
Upstairs is an open plan sitting/TV room with a traditional two-seater settee and matching armchair and a single bed off to one side. Old wood predominates and the floors are waxed 'distillery wood' with the walls wood lined. The robust Scottish Douglas Fir rafters are exposed. The interior is cosy and uncluttered: wool rugs and oil paintings provide additional interest. Adjoining this room there is a large bedroom with magnificent double bed and sea views.
Directions:
Travelling from the Buckie direction on the A98, you will go under the old railway viaduct as you come into Cullen; take the 1st left immediately after the viaduct. Follow this road round with the sea on your left until you reach the harbour. Carry straight on past the harbour, and The Sailors Store Cottage is 50 yards beyond the harbour, on the left, before a white painted gable.
From the Portsoy direction, on entering Cullen head down the main street, turn right after you go under the viaduct at the point where the road turns sharply, head downhill and bear right beyond the harbour for 50 yards. The cottage backs on to the road and faces the sea.
