The southern end of Glenisla which is on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park. It is a quiet rural location but is only one and a half hours drive from Edinburgh Airport.

Glenisla has many cycling and walking routes directly on your doorstep. The Cateran Trail runs adjacent to the cottage and the longer routes from Glen Clover and Glen Doll up to Braemar are also nearby. There are also many circular walking and cycling routes from holiday cottages in Glenisla.
There are seven golf courses within a half hour drive from the cottage, and also the championship courses at Carnoustie and Gleneagles within a day trip.
Fly fishing lessons
River and Lochs for fishing are in abundance and a gillie can usually be found for a fly fishing lesson!
There are also distilleries and castles to explore amongst the tourist attractions of this area, with Glamis, Scone, Pitlochry and Bruar being less than an hour's drive away. The hills and lochs to the north offer many interesting and challenging walks, and the coast to the east has many beautiful beaches and cliff walks.
This is an area that produces a very high standard of food from the Aberdeen Angus beef at the local butcher, to smoked and fresh fish from Arbroath. There are also the summer soft fruits and asparagus all produced on local farms and available from the local shops.
There is good local information covering the local shops and restaurants, circular walks and cycling routes at different levels of ability which could be for just half an hour stroll to the Reekie Lynn waterfall or a whole day's cycling.
