Hills and heather are in abundant supply as are rivers and lochs - pets will love the area. The beautiful Angus Glens offer ample opportunities for hill walking with other more or less challenging walks available within the area, including The Cateran Trail, a a 56 mile walk in the heart of Scotland set in gorgeous scenery. The trail loops from Alyth up to the Spittal of Glenshee and back. It is only a 45 minute drive to the coast where you can enjoy long stretches of unspoilt beaches, excellent bird watching and we can recommend a cosy inn where you will find the best dressed crab and delicious local Arbroath Smokies.
For the golfer there are several major golf courses within striking distance including Alyth, Glenisla, Strathmore and the renowned Rosemount and Lansdowne championship courses in Blairgowrie. Both fishing and skiing are on hand depending on the season. Perthshire and Angus offer a wide variety of ancient and historic sites as well as some beautiful gardens. Easily within reach are the ancient capitals of Scone and Forteviot, the battle site of Killicrankie, Dunkeld Cathedral, Arbroath Abbey, Glamis Castle, Branklyn Garden and many more.
In the surrounding area there are a whole variety of places to eat out ranging from nationally recognised gourmet hotels to local inns, all within a reasonable driving distance. Dundee, the City of Discovery, is 30 mins drive and Perth 35 mins; both cities offering a whole host of activities and attractions - also excellent retail therapy if required!
