Set in beautiful countryside, 17th century Gled Cottage is situated in the heart of Scotland within one hour of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth. It provides an excellent touring base whether you wish to visit the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park or nearby Stirling’s historic sites which include the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle. The fascinating Falkirk Wheel is a short distance away.
Alternatively you may wish to visit Edinburgh, famous for the International Festival – trains run from nearby Dunblane on an hourly basis, and this makes travel to both Edinburgh and Glasgow very easy if you would rather not take your car. Oban on the west coast of Scotland is two hours away, or Glencoe is a one hour drive. There is an excellent network of cycleways nearby on which to explore the area, and walkers can enjoy the challenges of Ben Lomond, Ben Vorlich, or Ben Ledi which can be seen rising majestically to the north of the cottage. This is a superb self-catering cottage which offers excellent accommodation in a gorgeous setting.

Accommodation:
17th Century Gled Cottage has the advantage of having spacious accommodation all on one level and is situated in its own garden with views of the forest behind, and the Gargunnoch hills to the south. There is a sun porch on the south-facing front of the cottage. The bedrooms are situated at either end of the cottage, and the extra large double bedroom has its own ensuite shower room, with disabled seat and grab rail. The twin bedded room (with extra stowaway bed) has a private bathroom with overbath shower.
The sitting/dining room has a comfortable sofa and armchairs, with a dining table and chairs at one end and a log fire.
The newly refurbished kitchen is accessed off the sitting room and has access to the garden through the back door.
There is also a table and chairs in the kitchen. Full oil fired central heating throughout. Wheelchair access is possible and if required you are advised to discuss this in advance with the owner. There is wireless broadband in the cottage.

By Road:
Take M9 Stirling/Perth motorway, come off at Junction 10. Take the A84 for 5 miles, turn left on to the B826 for Thornhill. Gled Cottage is two miles on the right hand side.

Rental period is generally Saturday-Saturday, arrival 4pm and departure at 10am.
Weekend/short breaks available. Longer term lets can be arranged during the period October to end of March - prices on application.
