The Bothy is an early 19th century cottage which has been beautifully refurbished - the stone fireplace is gorgeous (it now has a wood-burning stove) and the unspoilt surrounding countryside is ideal for walking or just relaxing and admiring the views. There is so much to see in the Borders that you will wish you had stayed for longer - castles and mansions (Traquair is 2 miles away), abbeys, mill shops, great walking, superb fishing and riding.

Locally the Scottish Borders has many and varied attractions: historic houses (the closest is Traquair House), popular tourist towns (e.g. Peebles); wildlife (e.g. the Osprey Watch centres in Glentress /Kailzie Gardens); horse riding; fishing on Tweed; and golf courses e.g. Cardrona, Peebles and Innerleithen. The cottage is within easy striking distance of historic Edinburgh too.

There are lovely Scottish gardens, castles, abbeys and archeological remains - something for everyone in this part of Scotland! Edinburgh is easily reached for a visit.
