There is an enclosed private garden behind the cottage and Deer, red squirrels, owls, badgers and hares are nearby. The surrounding countryside is spectacular for walks and cycling.

The owners live in a house on the other side of the courtyard. They will completely respect your privacy and you will rarely see them, but they are on hand if you need any help or advice. The cottage is completely separate and the cottage garden is very private and not overlooked.

Downstairs, the living room has two sofas in front of the multi-fuel stove, one two-seater and the other a larger L-shaped sofa that converts easily into a double bed. Wifi, satellite TV, games and books are all available, and the multi-fuel stove runs the central heating system and provides hot water (alongside the immersion heater) as well as being a welcoming warmth in the heart of the living room.

The well-appointed kitchen has a table that can seat six guests and is fully equipped with electric cooker, a fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, washing machine/dryer, pots, pans, as well as place settings of glasses, crockery and cutlery. There are swings and a burn that runs through the woods across the courtyard where you are welcome to wander.

Also downstairs, is a double bedroom on the ground floor, with level access to the bathroom, living room and the lobby for boots and coats by the front door, although is a single step into the cottage and two up to the kitchen from the living room.

The stair case is quite steep (though it does have with stair-gates fitted to the top and bottom) so guests should make their own judgement on suitability for very young children or people with limited mobility. It leads upstairs to a spacious light master bedroom with a king-sized bed that overlooks the cottage garden.
