Littleton of Airlie Farm Cottage Kirriemuir, Angus Scotland
|
|
Set in the Vale of Strathmore in the
unspoilt Scottish county of Angus, this is a really charming holiday
cottage between Kirriemuir and Blairgowrie. It is beautifully
decorated with charm and taste - we think the owner should be an
interior designer! In fact she is a well-known garden designer so the
cottage garden is stunning - it is the most beautiful place to sit in a
summer's evening admiring the flowers or having a barbeque. The
cottage is stylish, yet cosy, and a perfect place for a honeymoon in
Scotland, or a romantic break for a couple.
The owner lives nearby and is happy to provide local information about
off-the-beaten track places to eat and visit. There are five 18 hole
golf courses within 10 miles - Rosemount (at Blairgowrie), Alyth,
Strathmore, Glenisla and Kirriemuir; and skiing at Glenshee is nearby.
There is also great fishing and hillwalking in the Angus Glens.
Pitlochry with its excellent theatre is only 30 minutes drive, as is
Perth and Dundee. Glamis Castle (childhood home of the late Queen
Elizabeth the Queen Mother) is just a few miles away and is one of
Scotland's most fascinating castles. Kirriemuir was the birthpace of J
M Barrie, and this small market town has a feel of times past with
excellent local shops.
