The Turret House Aberfeldy, Perthshire |
|
The Turret House sits in an elevated rural setting, above the historic village of Weem, about a mile north west of Aberfeldy which provides an excellent range of facilities, including quality individual shops, a supermarket and hospital. Pitlochry, about 15 miles away, is home to the famous Festival Theatre and has mainline rail links. Recreational facilities are well catered for in the area including water sports on lochs and rivers, walking and climbing with several Munros nearby, golf on the many 18 and 9 hole courses within easy reach and various clubs and societies covering a large range of interests.
Situated in the heart of Scotland, the area is surrounded by outstanding Perthshire scenery. Visit the nearby stunning Loch Tay, the conservation village of Kenmore and Ben Lawers, Perthshire's highest mountain at almost 4000 ft. Alternatively visit the 16th century Castle Menzies and Fortingall, home to the yew tree believed to be the oldest living thing in Europe (between 3000 and 5000 years old). Most people come to the area to take part in the wide range of outdoor activities this "adventure playground" boasts: people who love the great outdoors, whether it be fishing on Loch Tay, golfing on the numerous courses nearby, watersports of simply walking or cycling to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
