Orrin Cottage Strathconnon, Ross-shire
|
|
Orrin Cottage will not fail to impress nor will it disappoint any visitor. Being immersed in the heart of Scotland's rugged beauty and waking up to tremendous views or sitting having a drink on one of the decks, may make you rethink the holiday schedule of whisky trails, dolphin cruises, castles etc! Just spending a day at the cottage with the fresh mountain air, red kites, stags, golden eagles for company will be enough to recharge anybody's batteries. Visually the valley is an artist's or photographer's dream; physically the valley can be as easy or demanding as you want it to be.
Situated in possibly the most scenic glen at the heart of scotlands
majestic highlands, this homely delight will allow you to get
comfortable with that home from home feeling. Perfect for adventerous
hikes along the mountain rim or lazy walks along the river Meig.
If all the peace and tranquility get a little much and you need more
hustle and bustle for a while try Inverenss, with its great restaurants,
ample shopping, museum, historic sites, good pubs and music venues will
satisfy most urges for small city life. Not far from home is
Strathpeffer with its Spa pavillion, truely wonderful chocolate shop
and challenging hillside golf course.
Being a memeber of a local 'tug o war team', I really do recommend
attending one or more of the many highland games held throughout the
area which run from May until October. The Strathconnon valley has its
very own event which you have our own personal welcome.
