This warm and inviting holiday cottage in spectacular Glenshiel is in an amazing location and is ideal for a walking holiday or for exploring the highlands of Scotland. Glenshiel has 21 Munros so is a perfect base for walkers and climbers - the Five Sisters of Kintail and Saddle are accessed directly from the house. Other mountain ranges reachable from Woodlands are The Cuillin Hills, Ben Nevis range, Glen Affric, Glenelg and Knoydart. In addition Glencoe and Torridon are about two hours away.
For the less energetic there is a myriad of mid and low level walks Ramble
through forests and isolated glens, wander alongside tumbling burns and
inland lochs or explore the miles of coastline the North West is famous
for.
The cottage is well-placed for exploring much of the highlands and islands. The peace and tranquility of this part of Scotland is unsurpassed. You can visit Applecross, cruise along Loch Ness, explore the glorious beaches at Glenelg and Plockton or go over the sea to Skye. Other nearby attractions include Eilean Donan Castle (perhaps the most photographed of all Scottish castles), the cascading waters of the Falls of Glomach, the Iron Age Brochs of Glenelg and, of course, the abundance of wildlife the area has to offer. Golden eagles, pine martens, seals, porpoises, otters, wild goats and red deer have all been spotted in the vicinity. There was even a whale in nearby Loch Duich once! Take a seal trip, sail in a glass bottomed boat, go boating, pony trekking, mackerel fishing or just relax in the house and enjoy the mountainous views.

Accommodation: Woodlands enjoys the best of both worlds being in a remote location yet having a shop, internet café and take-away, plus a bar and restaurant all within walking distance.
Woodlands is a warm, centrally-heated house that has 2 double bedrooms (1
en-suite), 3 twin bedrooms (1 en-suite), plus a family bathroom and an
additional shower room/WC. The lounge is huge and the kitchen/dining room
is also very big. In the lounge there is a double bed settee and two single
futons. There is bedding, dining seats and kitchen equipment for 12. The
house stands in half an acre of fenced land on which there is parking for at
least 6 cars. Other extras are a drying cupboard and a travel cot.
Getting Here: By Train:
there is the spectacular train journey from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh - featured as one of the Great Railway Journeys of the World.
By road:
Woodlands is on the A87 to Skye at Shiel Bridge. Buses from
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Skye all stop at Shiel Bridge

that used in the pool shed (that is metred).
Cost and availability. The cottage is rented all year.
Property rental periods are generally a week, Saturday to Saturday.

Checking in time is 4pm and checking out time is 10am.
