This unique 16th century tower nestles deep in the Scottish countryside in the foothills of the Lammermuirs in the heart of East Lothian, yet only 25 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh.

This historic tower has been beautifully renovated and finished to an exceptionally high standard - your every comfort has been thought of. Home to the Keiths, one of Scotland's leading families in the 17th century, the tower retains many of its original features including the panelling in the drawing room and the timbers given by the Danish king to George Keith, the 5th Earl Marischal.

With its gentle rolling hills, broad open plains and fine stretch of coastline, East Lothian is one of Scotland's best kept secrets. This has been a popular holiday destination since Victorian times, with guests drawn to the area for its beauty and quiet sense of calm. The surrounding area is a golfer's paradise with over 12 courses within easy reach. These include championship courses at Gullane and Muirfield and other good courses at Aberlady, Craiglaw, Gifford and North Berwick. If you are on a family holiday the miles of beautiful golden beaches will keep the children happy. There is also a large area of garden for your use around the tower and this is in turn surrounded by 14 acres of private parkland - a very safe area to let children play.

The owners offer a personal service to holidaymakers and will make any arrangements you might need (e.g. babysitting, booking tee times etc). With Edinburgh only 16 miles away, with its wealth of galleries, museums and wonderful restaurants, you really can have the best of both worlds by staying at Keith Marischal Tower!

This is an idyllic place to stay for a golfing or family holiday in East Lothian in a superb historic house.

Accommodation:
This historic tower house is spread over 3 floors with a very modern and well equipped kitchen, little sitting room and utility room on the ground floor. A spiral staircase leads up to the main sitting room - a beautifully panelled room with an open fireplace. There is also a double bedroom with ensuite (and shower) and a separate bathroom on this floor. The second floor houses another 3 very attractive bedrooms and a further bathroom and WC. The final single bedroom is at the very top of the tower (perfect if you want a bit of peace and quiet and the views are quite spectacular!)

The kitchen and sitting room are just being finished so there are no photographs of them at present - but they are as gorgeous as the rest of the accommodation!

Directions:
From Edinburgh take the A68 south through Dalkeith and then turn left onto the A6093 (signposted Haddington). Continue on this road for about 2 miles where you turn right onto the B6371 (signposted Humbie). The entrance to Keith Marischal Tower is on the left after about 3miles. Turn left past Gate Lodge and continue up the drive to a gravel sweep in front of the tower.

All bed linen, duvets, towels, dish-towels, central heating, hot water and electricity are included in the price.

Cost and availability.
Rental periods are generally arrival after 4 pm and departure by 10 am - every effort will be made to accommodate alternative times. Short-breaks are available too. Changeover date for weekly lets is Saturday.
