Our spacious cottage sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms and is located on the breathtaking diverse landscape of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula in the Scottish Highlands. Base yourself at Tigh-na-Creagan and you will be rewarded with a choice of adventure or peaceful relaxation during your stay. Your day will start with breakfast on the deck which is a must, as the sun rises in front of you glistening across the tranquil Salen Bay of Loch Sunart. This truly is a heavenly place to be.
Ardnamurchan is a long narrow peninsula following the shores of Loch Sunart which marks the most westerly tip of the Scottish mainland. The Peninsula is renowned for its rocky coastline and its white secluded sandy beaches. Tigh-na-Creagan is situated in the picturesque village of Salen nestling at the head of a small sheltered inlet off Loch Sunart. It's a great home base to access all areas on the Peninsula and easy ferry access to some of Scotland’s most beautiful and remote islands.
There is an abundance of activities on Ardnamurchan and surrounding areas and to suit all ages and abilities. There is a fabulous coastline to explore with both sandy and rocky beaches, it is possible to hire or charter boats and there is scope for island hopping and whale watching. Other water-based activities include sailing, kayaking or take a ride in an exhilarating RIB. For the fisherman there is both sea and loch fishing. Land based activities include cycling and mountain biking, hillwalking and forestry walks. For the more intrepid there are opportunities for mountaineering and ice climbing and even the world's biggest indoor ice wall at Ice Factor in Kinlochleven. In the winter skiing is available both at Glencoe and Aonach Mor - less than an hour's drive away.
Loch Sunart is a designated Special Area of Conservation and is home to a wide range of birds and wildlife; anyone interested in natural history can enjoy the thrill of watching various species in their native enviroment. There are also many sites of historic interest. With fabulous loch views and a large decked area just above the shoreline Tigh-na-Creagan is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquility. You can even bring your own boat which can easily be launched at the adjacent Salen jetty and sail into the sunset!
