This is a delightful, traditional Scottish gate lodge which has been refurbished to provide wonderful holiday accommodation for 8 people. Dunalastair is a family-run estate in highland Perthshire, close to lots of activities and places to visit. The drive is no longer used so this is a very peaceful and tranquil place for a holiday. The holiday lodge has a four poster bed and a log fire and is beautifully furnished and extremely well appointed. There are wonderful views of the surrounding highland scenery - lochs, moors, woods and hills (the view to Schiehallion is very special).

There is lots to do in the area - castles (including Blair Castle), distilleries to visit, theatre at Pitlochry, and train trips on the West Highland Line from Rannoch Station. Outdoor activities are plentiful in this part of Perthshire - white water rafting, golf, pony trekking and hill walking are plentiful. There is free trout fishing on part of the River Tummel, a tennis court and a boat to use on Dunalastair Loch - so plenty to do without leaving the estate. The walking and wildlife are superb - deer, osprey, red squirrels and eagles are often seen from the holiday cottage. From the lodge you can walk for miles in the beautiful Perthshire countryside - this is a perfect place for a Scottish vacation.

Accommodation:
The sitting room has an open fire (logs are provided free), great views and attractive and comfortable furniture. The kitchen/dining room is well equipped and modern. There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor, as well as a shower-room. On the first floor is a twin bedroom, a bathroom and a double bedroom in the tower with a king-size four-poster bed (very luxurious and romantic!). The stairs to the second floor are very steep (not suitable for small children or the infirm) and lead to a delightful twin bedroom in the upper tower.

Directions
From Pitlochry:
drive north for a short distance and take the B8019 for Kinloch Rannoch and follow this road until you reach Tummel Bridge, about 14 miles. At the junction, turn right onto the B846 still towards Kinloch Rannoch. The cottage is on the left hand side just beyond the waterfall about 1 1/2 miles from Tummel Bridge.

What's not included: Personal hand and bath towels (except for overseas visitors).

Cost and availability.
East Lodge, Dunalistair is rented out year round.
Rental periods are generally a week - Friday to Friday. Checking in time is after 4pm and checking out is 10am.
