Atlantic House is situated in the hamlet of Roag which is on a quiet loop road ideal for safe walking and cycling. Wildlife abounds with red deer and sea eagles being regular visitors. Roag also has a resident herd of highland cattle which add to the general scenic quality of the area. Nearby Dunvegan has grocery shops, newsagents, a petrol station, post office, medical centre and a good selection of retaurants and pubs.
The Isle of Skye is famous throughout the world for its mountains: the Five Sisters of Kintail and the pinnacle perils of the Cuillen Ridge. There is something for everyone: climbers, walkers and scramblers can find terrain of every possible difficulty and there is also the coastal adventure of some of the highest sea cliffs in Britain. The world class marine environment offers activities to suit all levels of experience in sailing, diving or kayaking.
There are a whole range of cultural and heritage sites and attractions. Nearby Dunvegan Castle and its grounds will keep historians and families entertained for days. Visit clan centres or simple crofts and the echoes of the past will resonate. There are so many things to see and experience on Skye that one visit will not be enough.
The surrounding area offers almost every outdoor pursuit available as well as stunning scenery and fascinating history. Atlantic House and Roag have a special atmosphere which is difficult to portray in text as watching the sun rising over the Black Cullins or setting by Macleods Tables from the rear garden, are sights that will stay with you and give holiday memories that will long be cherished.
