This is a wonderful holiday cottage for 4/5, situated in the East Neuk
of Fife. If you are looking to escape your daily routine,
then this is a perfect holiday retreat, close to the Fife Coast and
only 10 miles from St Andrews. The cottage was renovated in 2006 and
provides comfortable accommodation on two floors. Visitors have access
to a large, sheltered, south-facing
garden patio with stunning views.
The East Neuk of Fife is a walkers' paradise, with its glorious coastal
path providing stunning views across the Firth of Forth. The path is
punctuated by the historic old fishing villages of Pittenween, St
Monans, Anstruther and Crail. For those interested in history, visits
to St Andrews, Anstruther and Kellie Castle are a must. Further afield,
there is the 18th century country house at Hill of Tarvit, Falkland
Palace and the historic town of Culross.
This is an ideal cottage to rent for a bird-watching holiday in
Scotland - the nearby Isle of May is an RSPB reserve, home to thousands
of sea birds that
nest on the cliffs. Boat trips to the island from Anstruther are
available from
May to September, weather permitting.
If you fancy a break from the cooking during your holiday, the area has
a number of fine restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Peat Inn,
The Cellar in Anstruther and The
Seafood Restaurant in St Monans
The East Neuk is also an ideal holiday destination for artists and art
lovers, with
many galleries in the vicinity and the Pittenween Arts Festival at the

Accommodation:
The cottage is a 17th century farmhouse on the edge of the
conservation village
of Colinsburgh. It was completely renovated in 2006 to give it a
comfortable yet traditional feel. On the ground floor there is a
good-sized, well-appointed kitchen/dining room, a lounge/library with a
wood-burning stove and exposed beams. There is also a small, walk-in cloakroom and a separate downstairs WC. Upstairs, there are two large
bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a double bed and a
single bed. There is also a bathroom with a shower.
There are glorious views from the cottage and from the south-facing
garden patio, which has a barbecue and garden furniture should you be
planning an alfresco meal. Visitors may like to purchase fresh
vegetables from the garden when in season. A cot and high chair
can be provided for the younger visitor. Bayview is a very cosy cottage
at any time of year, so ideal for an autumn or winter short break or
long weekend away from the humdrum. Pets are also welcome and there are
lots of places to walk dogs off the lead in the area.
