This is one of two beautiful holiday cottages at Harleyburrn located in 2 acres of
private and secluded gardens less than a mile from the centre of Melrose. It
is a fantastic location for enjoying the splendid Borders region and the
picturesque town of Melrose. The Scottish Borders offers wonderful
fishing, including the River Tweed, excellent golf (22 courses nearby) as well
as very good walking. The region is steeped in history and has lots of
attractions including the Border Abbeys and many stately homes,
castles and gardens.
The Saddlery Cottage has been restored, and equipped to a very high
standard from an original Victorian Saddlery. Today it offers guests excellent
accommodation with every modern comfort, whilst still retaining the
charm and character of a traditional country cottage. The cottage is
accessed from a private driveway shared with a 19th century Coach House and the
neighbouring Stables Cottage. The owners live nearby and provide a
personal touch and are available to answer any queries. The cottage features
beamed ceilings, a cobbled patio, extensive parking areas and open
south-facing views over landscaped garden to the Eildon Hills beyond.
Nearby Melrose is a lovely Scottish Borders town with an excellent range of
shops, cafes and restaurants. Melrose Abbey is a must to see whilst on
holiday in this part of southern Scotland.

Accommodation:
The Saddlery is a charming traditional Scottish holiday cottage in a
splendid garden location near Melrose which has been restored and
equipped to a very high standard. There is a large dining kitchen with seating
for 6. The kitchen features an ornamental Victorian range, and is fully
fitted with all modern appliances. The cottage has a large master-bedroom with
King-sized bed, a large family bedroom with a double and single bed.
The modern bathroom has a large walk-in shower cubicle and power shower.
The sitting-room has good quality sofas and a large wide-screen TV with
VCR & DVD. It is double glazed for winter comfort.
The cottage sits in two acres of gardens which are available for
guests to use and has its own BBQ and garden furniture to enjoy on those long
summer evenings.
Larger parties can be accommodated by also booking the neighbouring ;
Stables Cottage.

The cottage is rented out year round.
Rental periods are generally arrival 4 pm departure 10 am - every
effort will be made to accommodate alternative times. Short-breaks and longer
holiday lets are available.
Changeover date for weekly lets is Saturday.
