Rental Cottages in Speyside

The cottage is nestled in a conservation area, in the Burgh of Portsoy which lies midway between Cullen (of Cullen Skink fame) and Banff.
It is a two minute walk to the 17th century harbour with wonderful sea views. Portsoy was established as a Burgh in a charter signed by Mary Queen of Scots in 1550 and was traditionally a fishing village associated with the herring trade until the 19th century. What you find today is an attractive uphill town centre with fascinating streets winding down to the harbour. On these streets you can find everything from a curio/second hand bookshop, chemist, baker to an ice-cream shop serving locally made ice-cream.
Portsoy is an ideal base for visiting tourist attractions such as the 'Castle Trail' and the 'Whisky Trail'. There are numerous golf courses and wonderful sandy beaches all within an hour's drive. Alternatively, every summer Portsoy hosts the famous Small Boats Festival and you could spend time in Portsoy enjoying Loch Soy on a pedalo with a children's play area, shops and cafes close at hand.
The Moray Firth which laps the Portsoy coast is home to many seabirds, seals and dolphins. Trips are available locally to enable you to catch sight of them. Walkers in Portsoy can choose from a range of countryside and coastal walks to suit all ages. Ultimately, Portsoy also has a famous natural resource, which is 'Portsoy Marble' found in the vicinity of Portsoy and can be purchased locally or for the amateur geologists it may be found by scouting the surrounding coastline. There is so much to do for all the family in this lovely corner of Scotland.
