Bitacora is a fantastic new 5 star property in a stunning location on the Isle of Syke. It is set in a superb elevated position on the Waternish peninsula overlooking the Bay to Dunvegan Head and across the Minch to the Outer Isles where the most amazing sunsets you can imagine will develop before your eyes.
Bitacora is a great base to explore the many coastal walks locally and is also close to the more adventurous climbs in the Red Cullin or at the Old Man of Storr. Waternish is the perfect destination for hill walkers, mountain climbers and lovers of the great outdoors. Take time to spot a wide variety of seabirds and even a sea eagle if you are lucky. There is also an abundance of marine life including otters, seals and whales.
You are close to the historic hamlet of Stein, home to the oldest inn on Skye and a renowned seafood restaurant. Food lovers will also be delighted to be near to the famous Three Chimneys restaurant. Travel round and visit Dunvegan Castle, home of the chieftain of the Clan McLeod, or sample the delights at Talisker distillery.
Waternish is home to many skilled craftspeople with galleries, potteries and craft shops displaying local and traditional talents. You may also find yourself inspired! The quality of the light and the peace is stimulating for artists, photographers and authors alike. Of course you may prefer to just relax and soak up the tranquillity, recharge your batteries ready for the hustle and bustle of modern day life.

Accommodation:
Bitacora is a fantastic new house which has comfortable accommodation for 6 guests. The spacious kitchen/dining room has a large patio area to the front with stunning views across the bay to the Outer Isles. The utility room and cloakroom ensure plenty of space for outdoor clothing, boots etc. The large and spacious sitting room with leather seating for 6 and a 42" plasma satellite TV is the perfect place to relax.
The "wet room" style family bathroom has a superior spa bath and wet room shower to accommodate a wheelchair user. There are 2 single bed rooms one of which has a � bed. One of the double bedrooms is suitable for a wheelchair user, the second double bedroom has an en suite shower room. Views from this room are across the bay to the front.
Outside, there is ample private parking around the house and a paved ramp to the rear door for a wheelchair user.
Directions:
From the Skye Bridge travel north on the A87 until Portree.
Continue north on the A87 about 5 miles towards Uig. Turn left onto the A850 towards Dunvegan. Continue on for 18 miles then turn right on to the B886 to Waternish. Continue on till the Stein junction then turn right up the hill. Keep on that road for about 4 miles to a Y junction. Turn left to Ardmore, Bitacora is the second house on the right.

Cost and availability:
Bitacora is rented out throughout the year. Change over day is Saturday. Check out by 10am. Check in any time after 3pm.
Short breaks available low or mid season or at last minute.
