Tralee Beach House is a beautiful south facing self catering holiday house located in one of the most spectacular areas of Argyll. The house offers high quality holiday accommodation for up to 8. Originally a highland croft cottage, it has been tastefully modernised and extended and is still nestled amongst the local crofting community. Surrounding the house you will see the crofters' livestock including sheep and highland cattle and come springtime the lambs and calves are a real treat. The Beach House garden offers a taste of the good life. In keeping with tradition there is a productive vegetable patch, a poly tunnel producing sweet tomatoes and cucumbers and a hen house with Black Rock hens providing eggs for breakfast each day. There are apple trees and soft fruit, all included when in season.
Tralee Beach is 100 yards from the house, just stroll through the garden gate and across the field. The beach is never busy and you can enjoy a relaxing day watching the children play in the shallow waters. The more energetic can explore the rock pools and the birdlife of the Salen to the west. Trek east and you will arrive at the foot of Ben Lora, fuel up at the caf� in the village of Benderloch before you head to the summit. The house has spectacular panoramic views of the whole bay, you can see the Isle of Mull straight ahead, Isle of Kerrera which sits outside Oban harbour, Loch Nell to the right and Ben Lora to the left. Tralee Beach is ideal for kayaks and windsurfers, for those with a dinghy there is a concrete slip at Tralee Bay Holiday Park.
The house is surrounded by various mountain ranges, within 10-50 minutes drive you will have reached a number of local Munros to climb. On the doorstep there is an abundance of walks and cycle tracks. The village of Benderloch is a short stroll along the beach, here you will find Ben Lora cafe offering delicious home baking and 'Campbells' licensed village shop. The village also has a garage with far more than fuel on offer. Within 10 minutes south you will be in Oban, rapidly being recognised as the sea food capital. Oban is also the Gateway to the Isles, Lismore and Kererra islands make a great day trip out on bicycles. Leave the bustle of the city behind and enjoy the relaxed pace of the West Coast of Scotland!

Accommodation:
Tralee Beach House has been modernised to take advantage of the spectacular views. The dry porch, great for kicking off the wellies, leads you to the main porch area, large enough for push chairs, jackets and boots. From the porch you enter the kitchen/day room. The kitchen has beautiful granite work tops and maple breakfast bar, 5 ring gas hob, electric double oven, full size larder fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The large kitchen island is a great social place to encourage help with food preparation. The dining room table extends to seat 8 in front of which is a leather sofa and chair. The kitchen/dining/day room has spectacular views of the whole bay and beyond. Patio doors lead out onto the slate tiled patio. To the left of the dayroom is the main sitting room. With its solid oak floor, TV and wood burner it again has amazing views and is a tranquil room in which to relax.
The two twin rooms are in the west end of the property and the kingsized double bedroom with ensuite to the east. Both the family bathroom and ensuite have power showers. The oak floored room to the left of the porch is home to the washing machine. This room, due to its ample space, has the new Futon Sofa bed in it with shelving for storage.
Outside there is a large lawned area surrounded by gardens with a mix of evergreen shrubs and perennials, the gate which leads to the beach is on the south west corner of the garden. In the east end of the grounds there are fruit trees and a vegetable plot, behind the vegetable plot there is a poly-tunnel which will have tomato, cucumber and hopefully peppers, all included when in season. At the west end of the garden the chicken house and run is home to three Black Rock hens that will provide you with your eggs for breakfast. To the side and along the front of the house is the slate patio with flower pots and garden furniture which finish off the setting to allow you to sit and drink in the views.
Directions:
From Glasgow take the A 85 and head to Crainlarich, then Oban. When you see the Connel bridge some 7 miles before Oban take your left turn and go over the bridge towards Fort William.
Approximately 2 miles after the bridge you will drive through Benderloch, take the last left turn in the village sign posted Tralee Bay and South Shian, then as above.
What's included:
Heating and logs for fire are included in the rental price.
Bed linen and towels are provided as are tea towels and dish cloths. Please bring your own beach towels.
Vegetables and eggs are included when in season.

This holiday house by the sea is rented out all year round. Change over day is Saturday with arrival after 4pm and departure by 10am.
Short breaks are available out of season.
