Barcaldine House self-catering cottages are set in the grounds of historic Barcaldine House, an elegant country house mansion dating back to 1709.
Nestled in mature grounds and gardens the self-catering cottages are very spacious and extremely comfortable. Within walking distance to Loch Creran, Barcaldine House Cottages are ideally located in a peaceful, tranquil setting on the edge of the Barcaldine Forest. Only 10 miles away is Oban, Argyll's principal town and ferry port, from where there are numerous cruises to the islands including Iona, Mull, Staffa and the Outer Hebrides.
For those who love the outdoor life, from dog walkers to mountain bikers to hill walkers to those wishing to enjoy the many activities and attractions
nearby, you don't have to travel far! On your doorstep you will find an abundance of wildlife and many interesting walks to chose from in nearby
Sutherlands Grove. A cycle track which runs past the property is approximately 10 miles in length and takes you along the shores of the Loch as well as into the forests of the nearby Glen. The beautiful and famous Tralee beach is only 4 miles from Barcaldine and other popular attractions nearby include Rally Karting and horse riding.
Also within easy reach is 'The Whisky Coast' (a collaboration of all 16 distilleries), island hopping, whale watching, golf, sailing, shooting, watersports including whitewater rafting, scuba diving, loch fishing, hill walking, climbing, to name but a few!

Accommodation:
Tiree, Staffa and Mull are three stone cottages built within a courtyard environment with ample car parking for each cottage. All rooms are comfortable and spacious with separate sitting area, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. Each cottage has two bedrooms, one double and one twin. The cottages are centrally heated, comfortably furnished and well equipped.
All cottages have full use of the nearby hotel facilities as well as the mature grounds and gardens.
What's included:
All heating is included in the rental price. Bed linen and towels are provided. Each cottage has tea and coffee making facilities plus complimentary toiletries. Guests have use of the hotel facilities which include a comfortable lounge, bar, restaurant and billiard room. Laundry service is available free of charge.
Directions:
From the North: From Fort William take the A82 to North Ballachulish then follow the A828 to Barcaldine and the sign post to the left for Barcaldine House.
From the South: At the village of Connel, near Oban, follow the signs for the A828 to Benderloch which takes you over the Connel Bridge. Follow this road through Benderloch. Just over four miles further north you will come to the village of Barcaldine and the sign post to the right for Barcaldine House.
Cost and availability.
With the exception of July and August all cottages can be booked for a minimum 2 night stay. During July/August the cottages are available from 2.00 pm Saturday departing the following Saturday by 11.00 am. On shorter stays, cottage availability is from 2.00 pm to be vacated on day of departure by 11.00 am.
