This property is no longer available in this portfolio - this entry is due to expire please try:
The Tower is situated in the small lochside village of Salen on the Arnamurchan Peninsula. A short stroll of under ten minutes takes you from the complete privacy of Tigh Margaidh to the local inn, a friendly bar with open fires and mouth-watering foods. It is also a ten minute scenic walk round Salen Bay to Salen jetty.
The village is well located to take advantage of the numerous outdoor activities available with the 'Outdoor Capital of the UK' at Fort William, where there is some of the most challenging hill walking, climbing, cycling and skiing you will find in the whole of the UK. The island of Mull is easily accessible by ferry from Kilchoan. You can also visit the small islands of Muck, Eigg, Rhum and Canna by catching a local ferryboat at Arisaig, or visit the island of Skye by catching a ferry at Mallaig.
Ardnamurchan is renowned for its peaceful surroundings and clear air. It is a long narrow peninsula along the shore of Loch Sunart and marks the most westerly tip of the British mainland. You can experience some of the best scenery in the west coast of Scotland and enjoy the unspoilt landscape and abundant wildlife. But if it is activity you seek then the festivals, highland games and many modern visitor attractions provide plenty to do and lots of entertainment. Landscape and wildlife are interpreted at the Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre, while the Ardnamurchan Point Lighthouse has exhibitions and displays on the subject of lighthouse life. The third visitor centre in the area, the Ariundle Centre, takes a craft theme, as well as interpreting local history. There is something for everyone here, whatever your age!
