Apple Cottage
Forgandenny, Perthshire

Once an apple store and judging by the angle of some of the walls, a cider brewery as well. Apple cottage is on a small private estate nestled between the River Earn and the Ochil hills. Rossie dates from 1657 so there are magnificent trees on the estate and the gardens open under the Scotland's Garden Scheme. The paddocks and surrounding farmland make you feel as if you are quintessentially in the best the countryside has to offer. The little cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped to a high standard offering the ultimate comfort. It is an ideal place to holiday from; Perth is only 7 miles away with its new Concert Hall and good restaurants, many golf courses are all around, Gleneagles 15 minutes, St Andrews 1 hour. Being so centrally situated it is an ideal location for setting off to the East coast of Fife or North for a day in the highlands. Being only an hour from Edinburgh or Glasgow the culture of these cities is in easy reach. Alternatively it can provide the city dwellers an escape for a short break to the countryside.

For those just wanting to relax at Rossie, you can walk down to the River Earn for some fishing, back for a game of tennis on the Astroturf court and then walk the gardens in the evening with a glass of wine.
