Waterfront Cottage sits on the East Braes at St Monans and it has wonderful uninterrupted sea views over the estuary of the Firth of Forth. The cottage also has great views of the old windmill and historic salt pans of 'old St Monans' which lie to the east side of the village. The property has recently been refurbished and upgraded to a high standard and provides very comfortable holiday accommodation in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Whether you have in mind an adventurous break walking or cycling, or a relaxing time enjoying the views then Waterfront Cottage would be an idea base for you.

St Monans is a quaint historic Scottish fishing village situated in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife. This part of the world is a wonderful place for a holiday or a short break. The villages of Elie, Pittenweem, Anstruther, Cellardyke and Crail are all within easy reach and only a short distance along the coast. The historic university town of St Andrews, which is famous as the home of golf, is only 10 miles away.

The local area caters for many interests including hiking, walking, cycling, golf, watersports, sea angling and local boat trips. There is also much to see for anyone with an interest in the arts or history. Alternatively if you want a more relaxed time the area has some beautiful beaches and wonderful restaurants and cafes.

The property is situated on the Fife Coastal Path which stretches from the Forth Bridge in the south to the Tay Bridge in the north of the 'Kingdom': the path follows a scenic route and provides some wonderful walking, and it runs right past the front door. Also, there are a large number of fine golf courses including championship courses all to be found close by. This part of Fife boasts a number of excellent restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes and budgets within easy reach of the holiday accommodation.

Accommodation:

This holiday rental home is a spacious terraced house on the sea side of Millar Terrace, on the East Braes in the village of St Monans.

The ground floor has a modern kitchen, a light and airy conservatory area and large living room/dining room with wonderful sea views and a cosy wood-burning stove. There is a downstairs WC/shower room, a bathroom and a spacious hallway leading to the front door. At the other end of the hall is the stairway, which leads to the second level.

Upstairs there is a large master bedroom (with en-suite shower room). The dormer window to the front of the property has a stunning view over the Firth of Forth and beyond, this is truly a magnificent vista and anyone who enjoys being by the seaside will be thrilled by this outlook. The second bedroom has twin beds.

The house is light, spacious and airy. There is a small courtyard to the rear, as well as a garden with seating at the seaside of the property.

Directions to St Monans:

From the South: Cross the Forth Bridge and take exit 2a off the M90 to Kirkcaldy, follow signs for the A915 to Leven and on to Lundin Links and Upper Largo. After Upper Largo take the A917 to Elie (follow signs for the East Neuk villages), continue through Elie the next village you come to is St Monans.

From the North: Cross the Tay Bridge and follow signs for St Andrews A914/A919. Continue through Leuchars till you come to Guard Bridge turn left onto A91 and continue onto St Andrews follow signs for the East Neuk Crail and Anstruther. Leaving St Andrews heading south on the coast road you will come to a Y junction, take the right hand road sign posted for Anstruther B9131. Enter Anstruther straight through to a mini roundabout on the main road, take a right. It is then 3 miles to St Monans passing through Pittenweem on the way. Final directions will be provided on booking.

What's included in the rental price:

Central heating, hot water and electricity are included in the rental price. Bed linen, towels, all kitchen utensils and crockery are provided. Initial supply of logs provided.

Cost and availability:

Change over day is Friday, 4pm check-in and a 10am check-out. Short breaks when available (minimum of 3 nights).
