Crail is probably the prettiest (and the most easterly) of the East Neuk villages. It is a bustling village with lots of shops, pubs, restaurants, hotels, two fabulous 18 golf courses, a beach and a stunning harbour complete with lobster and crab shop. Crail is said to be the driest place in Scotland ... so it's a great place to go if you want nearly a guaranteed "dry" holiday in Scotland! There are 30 golf courses within 15 miles of Crail, 7 blue flag beaches all within an easy drive (Elie has a two mile blue flag beach), farm shops, coffee shops, and views to die for.

Ornithologists have a field day here (there are puffins on the Isle of May, along with crags, plus seals and much more wildlife), walking (all along the coastal paths which stretch for miles), cycling, horse riding, water sports (big centre in Elie - 6 miles down the coast), kite flying and relaxing! There are 7 award winning restaurants in the area, farm shops, fresh fish and shellfish to buy too, foodie paradise. Historians will love the East Neuk villages for their colourful past and of course St Andrews University (10 miles from Crail) boasts the oldest Scottish university and Scotland's Secret Bunker (not so secret now!). There's also a great bus service that runs through Crail ... so if you don't have a car you can use public transport ...
